I started to play the guitar when I was 10 years old. Three years later I was already playing with a band at parties and weddings. All my bandmates were, of course, older than me and there was always a look-out, so I could hide in case the police entered the room. I would not be able to show my identity card because I did not have one.

As a child I was always attracted to music as my older brother was passionate about it and records were always played at home. My mother played the mandolin and my father sometimes played the mouth-organ,so perhaps this is where my musical talent came from. Nobody in my family was a professionally trained musician.
